Do you love learning about human anatomy and how the body works? If you find a busy environment exciting and enjoy a day filled with variety, consider a career as a Radiologic Technologist.

This ever-changing health profession has an excellent job outlook with many career opportunities and job settings available.

About the Program

In the Owens Radiologic Technology Associate Degree program, you will learn to position patients and x-ray equipment to demonstrate human anatomy. You will be an interprofessional team member with patients, imaging professionals, physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. You will utilize medical terminology, adjust exposure controls, practice radiation protection, and work in a fast-paced exciting environment.

You can specialize in computed tomography, mammography, bone densitometry, interventional, and cardiovascular imaging.

The Owens Radiologic Technology Program offers all second-year students the ability to complete a certificate in Computed Tomography and complete clinical experience in CT after program completion.

To practice as a Radiologic Technologist, you must pass a national certification examination through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The Owens Radiologic Technology program prepares you to take this examination. Some states, including Ohio, also require you to become licensed.

Ultimately, the Radiologic Technology degree will provide a strong education that is easily transferrable to other colleges and universities to earn a bachelor’s degree.
